Portion: a part of a whole; an amount, section, or piece of something.
There Are Approximately 8 Billion People On Earth. How Many Do You Think Know Who They Really Are?
As Children Of God, Identity Crisis Should Not Be A Part Of Us.
"But to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God, who were born, not of blood nor of the will of the flesh nor of the will of man, but of God." - John 1:12-13
What Does It Mean To Be A Child Of God?
"But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that you should proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light" - 1 Peter 2:9
Peculiar: Unusual. Special.
There's Nothing Normal About Us, And That's Okay. We Don't Serve A Normal God. What's Normal About Turning Water Into Wine? What's Normal About Causing The Blind To See? Or Causing The Deaf To Hear? Or Causing The Lame To Walk?
Kill Comparison.
When We Begin To Compare Our Lives To The Lives Of Other People, We Begin To Feel As Though We Aren't Enough. We Begin To Not Only Question Our Capabilities, But God's.
"Not that we dare to classify or compare ourselves with some of those who are commending themselves. But when they measure themselves by one another and compare themselves with one another, they are without understanding." - 2 Corinthians 10:12
As Children Of God, We Don't Compare Ourselves With Others. Many People Praise Themselves And Each Other For What They Have. They Lack Wisdom. A Wise Person Doesn't Praise Themselves. They Praise God. A Wise Person Understands That It's Not All About What They Have, But What They Are Doing With It.
When We Compare Ourselves To Others, We Create A Void Within. We Begin To Ask God "why don't I have this?" "Why can't I be like them?" God Can Already See You're Not Prepared For Whatever You're Asking Him, Because Your Eyes Aren't On Him. Those Who Know God, Know They Lack Nothing. Children Of God Know That Their Father Always Provides.
You Are Not An Orphan. You Are A Child Of God.
"In love he predestined us for adoption to himself as sons through Jesus Christ, according to the purpose of his will," -Ephesians 1:5
You Have A Father. You Have A Family. You Are Loved. You Matter. You Were Made Worthy Through The Blood Of Jesus. You Are Chosen. You Are A Child Of God.
